Site managed by the Countryside Management Service details here

The district park features almost nine hectares of open space. Adjacent to the main car park (with provision for 20 cars accessible only via Serpentine Close) is a well equipped and modern play area catering for both junior and senior, the focus of many a family visit. Very close to the main car park is a landscaped area originally intended as a cricket pitch.

Each of the surrounding woodlands has a distinctive character, with much of the site being classed as ancient woodland, having been wooded for the past 400 years and presumably much longer.
