Croxley Hall Woods

Woodlands such as this are one of the most stable natural habitats in the UK and as a result many plants and animals have adapted to this environment over the years.  Why not come and see what makes these woods their home?  Carpeted in bluebells in the spring, later in the year it is a great spot to come and enjoy autumnal views. 

Butterflies such as the Speckled Wood can be seen along the wide paths and sunny woodland edges, where sunlight reaches through the trees to allow the wildflowers on which they feed to grow.  Come for a walk at dusk and keep your eyes peeled for the bats who have made their home in some of the old trees found here.  The nationally scarce Natterer Bat has been seen here, as well as one of Britains largest bats, the Noctule.
